After a long day of travelling, we finally arrived in Groningen, where our Netherland's contact was waiting for us. I instantly fell in love the the architecture of Netherlands and its everywhere. Evert (previously mentioned contact) took us to our to-be-apartment for the next 7 weeks. We dropped of our luggage after a little tour and headed off to a store.
Next day, Evert took us all to our companies that we would be working at for the duration of our time here. I myself feel like I got lucky with my work place, because all my co-workers are super friendly and relaxed and the office building itself is very comfy. I got myself an office that I share with another co-worker. After the day was over, we went to our apartment and planned what we would be eating that day and settled on some spaghetti with minced meat and cheese.
The days went by with all of us going to work and getting home, going to store and cooking something to eat. In my opinion the food was surprisingly good. On Wednesday, Evert took us to get our bikes and we had our first experience with bikes in Netherlands and it did not go too well. I feel like we were going in wrong directions, stopping where we shouldn't and generally not doing too well. The next day we had to go to work on said bikes and it was an interesting experience, nothing went too bad other than me almost going on a bus lane. I also found out that my route to work has a 400 meter uphill and I did not like the idea of that, so once I got to work I started looking for another path to take in the future. When work ended I went to Aaro's work place and we biked home together, which went well. We didn't really do anything other than watch TV and do our own things until Saturday, which is when we went to the Forum, a large building near the city center of Groningen. We went there to visit a game museum that had a lot of cool and interesting games from along the years that people could play freely. It was really cool to see all sorts of weird controllers and machines that most haven't seen before. Right now its Sunday and I don't expect anything special to happen so I'm just waiting for tomorrow for work.
